What is blog migration? In simple terms it’s moving your blog from your current host to your new host. Moving over every post, category, tag, comment…everything.
Maybe you want to move from Blogger or Wordpress.com to your own self-hosted site using Wordpress software. Or from one self-hosted Wordpress site to another. In theory it’s supposed to be easy and you may not need me for it.
You should be able to go to your Wordpress installation on your new site, Manage --> Import and follow the instructions there.
In some cases, the import doesn’t work. If so, then I have a number of methods by which I can move your blog over. Some simpler, some more complicated.
Blog migration can be simply coordinating a difficult transfer of files or it can be included with a general set-up of your new blog: file transfer, plugins, feed transfer (so that your old subscribers can see your new posts), and some theme modification.
