What is a blog consultant? Well, it can be whatever we want it to be. Some people just need help getting started, in which case I offer a blog setup package for beginners or those transferring their blogs to self-hosted Wordpress. Others would like routine maintenance so they don’t have to worry about backups, finding plugins, moderate theme changes, etc. Perhaps you’re just in the market for someone to edit your posts (in which case, see my editing services page).
The list below includes the various services I offer as a blog manager. Because each blogger’s needs are different, I haven’t priced these services individually. Instead, we’ll discuss your unique situation, what you need, and how often. Feel free to mention any services you would like added on.
My blog-related services include:
- Blog management: More interested in just writing than in the backend blogging work? Contact me and we can work out exactly what your blog needs.
- Blog setup: Starting out for the first time? I’ll get your site up and running with a pack of useful plugins and some theme assistance. More details on the blog setup page.
- Blog migration: Moving your blog to a self-hosted Wordpress site? It can be tricky, click here to find how I’ll smooth that out for you.
- Plugin maintenance: Weekly (or monthly, if you’d like) checks to update plugins as well as emergency plugin maintenance when needed.
- Plugin search and upload: Don’t have time to find plugins and upload them? Add this to your package or purchase one-time plugin assistance.
- Minor to moderate theme design work: I have experience with both HTML and CSS (as well as PHP for Wordpress) and particular experience modifying Wordpress themes. If you have a theme in mind or need help looking for one, just let me know. I can modify the heck out of any theme to suit your needs. I can also recommend a designer if you’re looking for a new header.
- Feed setup: Need a feedburner account set up or modified? Confused by the Feedsmith plugin? Moving to another site and unsure of how to switch over your feed source (so your subscribers get the posts from your new blog)? Offered as part of my blog migration or setup, this is also an individual service.
- Blog stats set-up (and maintenance): Unsure of how to set up your blog with various visitor-tracking sites? I’ll help you get started. If you need help interpreting the stats, I can also look over the results and provide a general picture of where your traffic is coming from and where it goes.
- Copyediting posts: While I offer full editing services, I’m also offering simple copyediting to catch typos and misused words. If you think your writing could use a second pair of eyes, just add it on.
- Editing for ESL: If English isn’t your first language, you may have trouble being sure everything is grammatically correct. Click here to see how I can help you.
- Optimize/test for monetization and ad management: Not sure how to make money off your blog? Trying to figure out how to set up/manage Adsense or which advertising network to apply to? I’ll give your site a review to suggest placement, ad networks, and other strategies for making money.
